Satisfy Crocs Classic Clog French outfit Satisfy Running turns the classic Crocs into a proper hiking shoe.

Crocs have come a long way from their start as beach and boating clogs, with their focus on comfort and durability wildly overcoming any concerns about the not-quite-sleek aesthetics. Suffice to say, they’re no longer the fashion pariah many thought they would be way back in the day, even spurring other brands like Adidas and Doc Martens to produce their own clog models. These days, you can see Crocs everywhere. A lot of folks wear them for daily gallivanting, healthcare workers wear them in hospitals, cooks wear them in professional kitchens, and people, pretty much, wear them whenever they need a comfortable pair of shoes. The new Satisfy Crocs Classic Clog takes the once-divisive footwear to the trails.

We know… these aren’t the first all-terrain Crocs – they’ve been making clogs for use around backcountry trail for some time now, no matter how odd-sounding that seems. However, this collaboration with the trail running brand does make for a more interesting option, especially with the kind of modifications they made to the classic Crocs silhouette.

The Satisfy Crocs Classic Clog takes the boating shoe we all know and love (or hate), then gives it a neoprene collar on the upper, allowing it to foster a more sock-like fit around the ankle. In case you prefer your shoes snug hold on the collar, they also threw in an adjustable shock cord, so you can dial in the fit perfectly. It vows to deliver the familiar comfortable feel of Crocs footwear, by the way, with a shock absorbing outsole and energy recovery at the midsole, making it an excellent shoe for exploring the trails on foot.

As with any pair of Crocs, it gets plenty of ventilation ports built right into the upper, which also doubles as drains for those times you’re dipping your feet in water. It retains the buoyant qualities, too, so you can drop the shoe in the lake when kayaking and have yourself an easy time retrieving it from the water.

The Satisfy Crocs Classic Clog has an upper cut in the same thermoplastic as your standard Crocs, albeit with a collar cut in a neoprene blend of polyester and spandex, so it should be just as comfortable (maybe even more so with all that stretch from the elastic material). There’s no word on what kind of outsole they attached onto this thing, but Crocs have, traditionally, been good around water and slippery surfaces, so even if they stuck with basic soles from the outfit, it should, at the bare minimum, have plenty of grip, which will be very useful around the trails.

Need more technical shoes during your time in the trails (you can’t exactly do trail runs in this), but want to slip into Crocs for lighter hikes and doing errands around camp? Well, the shoes come with a packable carrying pouch made from polyamide, which are sized to fit the clogs perfectly. It comes with a strap for either carrying by hand or hanging on your pack, making it easy to bring along with the rest of your gear.

The Satisfy Crocs Classic Clog is available now, priced at $110.
