Radinn X-Sport Electric Surfboard Radinn's newest motorized board can ride at 35mph speeds for up to 45 minutes before requiring a recharge.

Electric surfboards are fun, with their motorized drives allowing anyone to glide across the water without the need to catch some big waves. While some people find them too expensive for what they bring (you can buy an entry- to mid-level jet ski for the kind of money they usually cost), there are folks who find plenty of value in being able to essentially skateboard on the water. If you’re among those, you’ll probably be interested in the Radinn X-Sport.

Billed as the Swedish outfit’s “most durable jetboard,” it boasts their newly-developed XDL Tech construction, which turns out wear-resistant hulls, allowing you to ride without worries of scuffing any part of the board. According to Radinn, it has the cosmetic durability to resist the nicks, scratches, and scuff marks that come as a standard part of recreational surfing, all while having the integral durability to absorb the impact from hits and drops.

The Radinn X-Sport achieves that durability with a hull construction that uses thermoformed plastic sheeting around an airy polystyrene core, with fiberglass and carbon fiber reinforcement for stiffness, molded external inserts to prevent penetration through the outer shell, and an ASA polymer outer skin for impact resistance. Despite the ultra-tough build, it remains reasonably lightweight, tipping the scales at just around 100 pounds with the electric motor and battery in tow. We know… 100 pounds isn’t exactly light, but it gets you a motorized ride that can glide across the water at pretty substantial speeds.

Instead of the usual two fin setup found in the outfit’s other boards, it comes with four, allowing for greater stability when traversing rougher waters, although it does require wider turns. Of course, the fins are removable, so you can easily configure it to match your riding preferences – use two fins if you want the ability to make tighter turns and go with no fins when you want to do tricks like 360s and slides. That means, the board can be enjoyed by both novices and expert riders alike, making it, arguably, the most versatile motorized surfboard in the outfit’s lineup.

The Radinn X-Sport can be fitted with a selection of motors and batteries. With the standard G3 motor, it can hit top speeds of 27 mph, although it can step things up to 35 mph with the more powerful G3 Pro. As far as range goes, it can ride for 30 minutes on the standard 2.5-kWh battery pack and 45 minutes on the bigger 3-kWh extended version. Those numbers put it, pretty much, at the forefront of the motorized surfboard category, with most other offerings falling just a tad short on both maximum speed and range.

Dimensions are 74.8 x 6.5 inches (length x width), so it’s big enough to accommodate most any rider. The shape, by the way, is more reminiscent of wakeboards than surfboards, which should make it easier to mount on the roof of your car or the back of your truck.

The Radinn X-Sport is available now, priced starting at $9,345.
