Cleaning a knife isn’t all that hard. Just bring out a couple of hand tools, take it apart, and get to work. Of course, that’s a problem if you’re out in the field and managed to lose your pocket multi-tool at some point, leaving you with no recourse but to clean the knife in an incomplete manner. That won’t be a problem for the CRKT Homefront.

Unlike other knives in CRKT’s range, it comes with the outfit’s brand new Field Strip technology, which allows you to easily disassemble it without any tools. Granted, a sudden need to clean your knife in the field probably won’t come up all that often, although if it ever does, this thing lets you do that without any hassles.

To disassemble the CRKT Homefront, simply slide the front release lever to flip the blade, rotate the release wheel clockwise to loosen the handle, and snap off the handle in half to pull everything apart. That’s it. Reassembly requires simply doing the same steps in reverse, so you can clean your knife every night if you’re up to the task.

The actual folder is done up to look like a WWI vintage, with a classic aesthetic that makes it seem like a generational heirloom. Features include a 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum handle, a 3.5-inch brushed stainless steel drop point blade, a bayonet lug-style flipper, and an open length of 8.3 inches.

Available now, the CRKT Homefront is priced at $150.
