DJI Power 1000 DJI's portable power station can power all your camping creature comforts, apart from fast-charging your DJI drone batteries to keep you in the air nonstop.

DJI makes some of the best drones, motorized gimbals, and even cinema cameras out there, whether for casual users, professional filmmakers, or somewhere in between. Of course, those things are only as good as the amount of backup power you have stashed in your equipment case, which, we guess, is why the outfit is getting into portable power stations in the form of the DJI Power 1000.

That’s right, DJI now makes portable power stations, so you can power up your DJI drones, gimbals, controllers, and more while you’re out in the wild. And they’re fitted with features designed for fast-charging batteries in their product line, making them a more interesting option for those who rely on DJI’s devices during their shoots.

The DJI Power 1000 has a 1,024Wh capacity, making this the ideal charging companion for extended time in the outdoors. It has two AC output ports that can handle continuous loads of 2200W each, complete with support for surge loads of up to 4,400W, so you can use it to power everything from fridges and electric ovens to power tools and all sorts of creature comforts. There are also two USB-C port, each one supporting up to 140W power output, along with a pair of USB-A ports for your older USB devices.

Aside from those common outputs, it also includes one SDC (smart DC) port and one SDC Lite. Designed to be used with separately-sold charging cables, these slots are designed for fast-charging compatible DJI drone batteries, such as those from the Mavic 3 Series (10 to 95 percent charge in 32 minutes), DJI Air 3 (10 to 95 percent charge in 30 minutes), and the Inspire 3 TB51 (10 to 95 percent charge in 28 minutes). Granted, not all their batteries will be compatible with the function, but those that do can really benefit if you need a lot of power to keep those drones up in the air.

The DJI Power 1000 can power a car fridge for up to 19 hours, an electric fan for up to nine hours, and a microwave oven for 1.3 hours of continuous operation, so it holds a decent amount of juice. It can be charged via a standard home outlet (1200W fast recharge mode fills it up in 70 minutes), a car outlet (requires a specialty cable, though), and solar panels if you packed a solar array along with all of your gear (they estimate around 2.8 hours of charging on an 800W solar input).

DJI’s portable power station uses LFP cells, which tend to be safer and longer-lasting than traditional NMC cells, while 11 temperature sensors continually monitor the heat dissipation, allowing it to function normally even in higher-temperature conditions. Other features include a flame-retardant construction, intelligent battery management system, a UPS mode for use as backup power at home, and a quiet operating sound level of just 23 decibels.

The DJI Power 1000 is available now, priced at $699. If you want something smaller, they also offer the 512Wh Power 500, which retails for $379.
