Viperade VE6 Utility Pouch Viperade's pocket organizer lets you carry your EDC gear neatly in your pants' back pocket.

EDC pouches are great, allowing you to carry all the tools and gear you need for a day out. Problem is, it requires you to carry an extra bag. Sure, it’s small, but it’s still an extra bag that you’ll have to hang on your shoulder, clip to a belt, or carry by hand. What if you can carry your EDC pouch the same way you carry a wallet? That seems to be the goal of the Viperade VE6 Utility Pouch.

Billed as an EDC pocket organizer, it’s, basically, a wallet for your EDC gear. With three small pockets and one large pocket, it has enough room for a small assortment of EDC essentials, all in a size that can fit in most larger pockets.

The Viperade VE6 Utility Pouch consists of a semi-rigid backing panel with three narrow pockets on one side and one wide pocket on the other. The smaller pockets are just the right size to hold writing instruments, utility knives, pocket multi-tools, pocket flashlights, and similar gear, while the wide pocket is designed to hold a pocket notebook (it looks perfectly-sized for Field Notes). Basically, it gives you enough room to carry a basic roster of EDC gear without having them loosely bumping around in your pocket.

Do note, it’s wider than your typical wallet, with dimensions spanning 5.3 x 4 inches (height x width). That means, it may not be narrow enough to fit into tighter pockets. If you have wider back pockets in your pants, though, it should slide in tightly. Alternatively, you should be able to fit in most jacket pockets, backpack pouches, and even a fanny pack if you’re wearing one. The best part? Since your gear is snugly slotted into each pouch, the whole thing should be stable, with no moving around while it sits in pocket.

The Viperade VE6 Utility Pouch has paracord loops on top that you can use to hang it on a lanyard for carrying around your neck. We know… that sounds awkward having a bunch of tools hanging down like a pendant. There’s also a belt loop on the wide pocket, which allows it to wear onto any belt up to 1.7 inches in width, so you can carry it like an EDC holster on your waist. Of course, we’d still prefer to carry this on a pants’ back pocket, although the bulk resulting from all the tools onboard could make it awkward to have on hand.

The organize is made from nylon and polyester parts, with the narrow pocket side getting a soft fleece lining to keep your favorite tools from getting scratched. Granted, carrying your gear this way seems like an invitation to get nicked and scratched, but we still think the fleece is a nice touch. At the least, it gives the whole thing a more premium feel. In case you want something wider or narrower, by the way, Viperade makes the same design at different sizes and pocket counts.
