NEBO Slyde King 2K NEBO's clever 2000-lumen flashlight has a slide-out 500-lumen work light on the side.

It looks like any compact flashlight that you can slip into your pocket or EDC pouch for bringing along to your daily pursuits. Except, the NEBO Slyde King 2K hides a neat trick that transforms it into a functional work light, allowing you to use the same lighting tool when searching for stuff and getting tasks done.

A clever two-in-one, this flashlight functions like a normal flash light that can throw a powerful beam from its business tip, making it useful when exploring dark basements, making your way around night trails, or trying to find the keys you dropped outside the bar (at least, that’s where you think you dropped it). Of course, what makes it special is the work light function from the side, allowing you to set it down on a table while you fix your glasses, sharpen your pocket knife, or jot down some reminders on your pocket notebook.

The NEBO Slyde King 2K puts out a whopping 2,000 lumens in flashlight mode, creating a strong beam that throws its light up to 1,300 feet away. It only has two flashlight settings: that 2,000-lumen high mode and a 200-lumen Low mode, with no other setting in between. Fortunately, you’re not stuck to just those two brightness levels, as it has a dimming function that you can use to dial in just the right amount of light that you want. Even better, you can save any brightness setting you settle on to the programmable memory, so you can quickly return to it the next time around.

NEBO has a feature they call 4X adjustable zoom, which you can activate with a twist. From what we can tell, it’s just a way of switching from floodlight to spotlight effect as needed, although it’s possible it also varies the intensity (hence, the zoom). By the way, the battery holds enough juice to keep it running at the 2,000-lumen setting for up to two hours, with the 200-lumen setting stretching that to a generous 12 hours of runtime.

The NEBO Slyde King 2K, of course, sets itself apart with a work light mode. To use that, you simply slide the body of the flashlight to reveal a LED panel on the side. It comes with five settings: High (500 lumens), Low (50 lumens), Red High (40 lumens), Red Low (4 lumens), and Red Flashing (40 lumens). According to the outfit, the battery will let it run for up to four hours straight on the High setting and 24 hours on the Low.

Construction is anodized aircraft-grade aluminum for the flashlight body, so this should be both lightweight and durable. It’s impact resistant for drops up to 3.3 feet and water-resistant according to IP67 standards, so you can safely take this during camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. Features include a rubberized grip, a magnetic base, and a built-in lithium ion battery that you can recharge via a USB-C slot. It measures 8.3 x 2 x 1.8 inches.

The NEBO Slyde King 2K is available now, priced at $59.99.
