Billabong just dropped a line of outdoor apparel called Adventure Division Collection, with all the pieces integrating camo patterns inspired by the landscape and travel photography of Chris Burkard. They derived three camo patterns from his work, namely highland, glacier, and iceberg. The Billabong A/Div Boundary Burkard Mock Half-Zip Fleece is our favorite piece from the lot.
A midweight pullover, the garment is covered in the collection’s highland camo pattern, making for a layering piece that should help keep you toasty while pairing nicely with both casual city outfits (like your camo beach pants) and technical backcountry ensembles. It wears like a half-zip hoodie, minus the hood, complete with a loose fit that should allow for plenty of warm layers underneath.
The Billabong A/Div Boundary Burkard Mock Half-Zip Fleece is made from a recycled polyester blend, with a brushed fleece finish and DWR coating, so it can keep you dry even when you chance upon inclement weather. It’s double knitted, so it doubles the thickness of the fabric to ensure a warm construction, with the long sleeves closed off by elastic cuffs that should keep the chilly air out. In case it warms up far more than you expected outside, you can lower the half zip and roll up the sleeves, too, so you can still look good in photography-inspired camo without sweating like you’re locked up in a portable sauna.
It has a vertical zip pocket on the left chest for your phone and other essentials, along with zippered welt pockets for your hands when it gets a little too cold. Other features include a mock neck collar, zipper pulls, and a matte rubber A/Div patch on the arm.
