We’re big fans of a great-sounding pair of in-ear headphones. What we’ve had a bit enough of are the sporty designs, with their bright colors and loud logos dominating the aesthetic. The Aedle ODS-1 gives us a break from that, giving an erstwhile sporty pair of in-ears a more refined flair.
Sporting a machined aluminum construction and ear hooks wrapped in Italian calf leather, the headphones bring an aesthetic that’s a lot closer to elegantly-styled cans than sporty in-ears. Simply put, if you’re looking for in-ears that can pair nicely with office suits and less-athletic outfits, this thing should have you suitably covered way better than most in-ear options you will find.
Under the Aedle ODS-1’s machined aluminum shell sits custom 10mm dynamic drivers and a single balance armature driver, creating a hybrid setup that delivers “immersive, powerful, and detailed sound” across the entire 20 to 20,000 Hertz frequency range. Titanium diaphragms and neodymium magnets round out the sonic setup, helping the earphones turn out natural lows, clear mids, and crisp highs.
The headphones come tethered to a detachable braided cable, with an in-line volume controller and a durable gold-plated MMCX connector. It’s available in three colorways, classic (aluminum housing with burgundy leather), legacy (aluminum housing with black leather), and eclipse (black housing and leather).
Now available for preorder, the Aedle ODS-1 is priced at $360.
