A new look, more power, and a whole load of tech are the main ingredients behind the 2017 Lincoln MKZ. And the refreshed model of the mid-size luxury sedan looks absolutely delicious.

Physically, the sedan gets an aesthetic overhaul. The winged grille of recent years has been retired in favor of a new one-piece mesh grille that’s flanked by LED adaptive headlights to further refine the vehicle’s front end. It’s an, overall, more conservative look that doesn’t veer too far from the aesthetics of its immediate competition.

Under the hood, the 2017 Lincoln MKZ gets an exclusive 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that puts out 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque in the all-wheel drive version (350-hp in the front wheel drive), giving it plenty of power, although you could opt for a more modest 245-hp four-cylinder engine as well as a 2-liter hybrid if you don’t need too much muscle in your sedan. A load of safety and driver assistance technologies come onboard, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, auto-hold, pre-collision assistance, and an enhanced park assist that uses ultrasonic sensors.

There’s also the Lincoln Drive Control, which lets you choose among three suspension settings (including a sport suspension), along with electronically-powered steering for effort-free handling. Inside, the car gets an active noise control system, sculpted pillar and door trim work, new switches and dials for easier control of audio and ventilation functions, optional Revel 14- or 20-speaker audio systems, three Black Label interior packages, and an optional retractable panoramic glass top that boasts the largest open-air roof on any sedan.
