We’re big fans of Sunspel’s classic swim shorts, which are based on the pale blue shorts James Bond donned in the 1965 film Thunderball. You have to admit, though, not every dude is perfectly comfortable lounging around in 60s-style shorts, which tend to go higher above the knee than more contemporary swimwear. Fortunately, Sunspel knows that, too, which is why they’re adapting the classic style for these new Mid-Length Swim Shorts.

Don’t worry, it still retains the same 007-approved streamlined and flattering style of the original, along with similar fit, fabric, and comfort appointments. Except, this new version is cut to sit just above the knee, making it better suited to pairing with summer items in your closet, so you can dress nice and lounge around the pool bar before taking your beach shirt off and diving in.

While it embraces 60s styling, the Sunspel Mid-Length Swim Shorts are made from a fast-drying contemporary technical fabric (polyamide), so it should deliver optimal performance, whether you’re snorkeling in the ocean, taking laps around the pool, or just hanging around the beach. And, yes, it’s been extensively chlorine and salt water tested, so these shorts should serve you through many swims and dips. To ensure the same streamlined fit, it measures 13.5 cm on the inner leg.

Features include superfine mesh lining, a concealed zip fly fastening, and a draw cord with metal ends. As for pockets, it comes generously equipped with two side pockets, a concealed front pocket with key loop, and a zippered back pocket.

Available in navy and sky blue, the Sunspel Mid-Length Swim Shorts are priced at $210.
