NikeCourt Tennis Classic Ultra Flyknit Sneakers What better way to make a retro tennis silhouette more contemporary than to deck it in a highly-technical knitted construction?

The Nike Tennis Classic has seen an interesting resurgence over the last two years, having found new life in various renditions that made the late 70s and early 80s tennis shoe feel fresh. Like many returning silhouettes that made a strong impression on the radar, the Swoosh is giving it the sock-like upper treatment in the form of the NikeCourt Tennis Classic Ultra Flyknit.

Instead of the traditional leather tennis shoe that adorned the feet of a young John McEnroe back in the day, the new iteration sees the footwear’s upper cut in Nike’s ultra-lightweight knitted yarn. The result is a tennis shoe retains the classic silhouette, while providing targeted breathability and support for more comfortable performance, whether you’re swinging at balls on a court, training at a practice wall, or spending the day shopping (for tennis equipment, of course) at the mall.

The NikeCourt Tennis Classic Ultra Flyknit comes in two different versions for men and women. The men’s shoe, which is our main interest here, sports a more smoothly-tapered profile from the tongue down to the toes, a leather Swoosh fused to the Flyknit upper, a heritage Nike Tennis Classic heel tab to foster a connection with the original shoe, and a premium cork insole to give it an aesthetic twist. It comes in three colorways: blue, gray, and black, with all three sporting white tennis outsoles.

Available now, the NikeCourt Tennis Classic Ultra Flyknit is priced at $150.
