Matador FreeRain24 Packable Backpack It might sound impossible to collapse a 24-liter backpack into your pants or jacket pocket, but that's exactly what this waterproof rolltop backpack does.

We’re huge fans of Matador’s extremely packable gear, from blankets to work mats to wet bags. It’s nuts how they manage to collapse functional items into tiny pocket-sized objects. They continue to impress this time around with the introduction of the Matador FreeRain24, a backpack that can fold down into a palm-sized bundle.

That’s right, it’s a real, functional backpack that can collapse into a size (5 x 3 x 2.5 inches) that will fit into the small exterior pouch of another backpack. It’s not a tiny pack, too, boasting a generous 24-liter capacity, making for a suitable bag for taking on short hikes and other day-long activities.

Despite being insanely collapsible, the Matador FreeRain24 is made from high-durability 30D Cordura nylon, so it should stand up to rugged use, with fully-sealed seams that render the main compartment waterproof for all-weather outdoor viability. It even has comfortable full-sized straps, with adjustable top stabilizers for improved ergonomics and breathable construction to minimize sweating during warmer days. Features include a Hypalon rolltop closure that’s impervious to water, ITW Nexus hardware, YKK zippers, a vertical-zippered exterior pocket, and two side pockets for easy access to small items.
