Klymit Cross Canyon 2 Tent Social distance away from the rest of civilization with this highly-affordable three-season tent.

Yes, you can lock yourself up at home to distance yourself from others in our pandemic-stricken times. Alternatively, you can take the car, drive up to the backcountry, and do social distancing where there are no people for literal miles. If you decide to do just that, the new Klymit Cross Canyon 2 Tent makes an excellent companion for your break from the world.

Billed as “the perfect weekend warrior tent,” it’s designed to deliver a comfortable camp shelter at a more affordable price point than similar products. You know, it’s the kind of tent that will appeal to those who want to hit the boondocks to avoid the tedium of being stuck in your tiny city apartment for weeks on end, but will likely revert to your once a year schedule of camping with your friend group after all this mess eventually passes.

The Klymit Cross Canyon 2 is a two-person tent that uses a single-pole chain structure that enables easy and hassle-free setup, while creating a robust structure that should hold up to the elements for most of the year, other than the winter season. It has a rectangular interior that allows for multiple sleeping configurations, so you can adjust your position based on the amount of gear and supplies that occupy the same space, with multi-anchor point vestibules both front and rear allowing you to keep some gear outside the tent in a partially covered space.

It has two entry doors, so you won’t have any problems getting in and out of the tent, while dual vents on top allow air to circulate even when you close the doors to get some peaceful sleep at night. There are no windows, though, so you’ll have to use the doors if you need to check something going on outside the tent at any point. Inside, it gets three overhead pockets and two corner pockets, giving you a convenient place to stash loose items you want to keep within easy reach at all times.

The Klymit Cross Canyon 2 has a floor area of 31 square feet, so there’s plenty of room inside to lie around for you and a buddy, as well as two 7.5 square feet of vestibule area providing the necessary room for your packs, gear, and supplies for the rest of your stay. The whole thing, by the way, packs into the included floor mat that doubles as the stuff sack, allowing you to transport it in a compact bundle measuring 20.5 x 6.5 inches (length x diameter) and weighing just six pounds. Construction is 68-denier polyester taffeta PU with water-resistant coating for the fly, 40-denier polyester mesh for the mesh, and 74-denier polyester PU for the floor.

Want something that can handle more than two people? Not a problem, as Klymit also has three- and four-person versions of this affordably-priced tent, which boast the same features as the two-person model, albeit in slightly bigger sizes.

The Klymit Cross Canyon 2 is available now, priced at $199.95.
