Freitag Dark Blue Jacket Made from a blend of summer-friendly linen and ultra-tough hemp, this lightweight blazer can make for a staple work jacket for the hotter days of the year.

It’s not exactly the most technical lightweight jacket for wearing in the summer. If you want a stylish-looking garment you to shield you from the sun while commuting on a bicycle during the hot days ahead, though, Freitag’s denim-like Dark Blue Jacket looks perfectly-suited for the job.

Made from the outfit’s ultra-durable broken twill, it can resist both tears and scrub, all while being lightweight enough to wear under the afternoon sun. It also comes with selvage and lap seams to protect the edges and other areas susceptible to heavy wear. More impressively, though, the entire jacket (except the buttons, which you can remove by simply unscrewing them) is biodegradable, allowing you to turn the whole thing into compost once it’s outran its useful life.

The Freitag Dark Blue Jacket’s biodegradability comes courtesy of the fabric, which is made from 81 percent linen for its summer-friendly talents and 19 percent hemp to add a dense quality to the weave. It comes in a blazer-style cut that should work perfect for wearing straight to work, with a single row of buttons that you can close up to add a little more warmth to your ensemble. A pocket on the right side of the back makes it easy to access a couple of stashed away essentials while riding your bike, with a single pocket on the chest for those times you’re on your feet.

Available now, the Freitag Dark Blue Jacket is priced at $379.
