Dani Blade This utility knife may be the safest, most ergonomic way to open packages and cut boxes.

They call it a hand-mounted box cutter, which, we guess, is appropriate, since that’s definitely going to be the main function for this minuscule cutting tool. It was literally built for that. However, with its safe design and excellent ergonomics, we have a feeling the Dani Blade will find more uses beyond opening all the packages Amazon delivers to your door step.

A small utility knife, it uses a slide-out blade that you can use to quickly open packages and boxes of all sorts. Except, it comes in a totally different design that’s smaller and more ergonomic, allowing you to perform cutting jobs much faster, while eliminating the chance for any accidents.

The Dani Blade is a small utility knife with rings on the sides of the grip. Why rings? So you can slip it between your forefinger and middle finger, securing it in hand without having to actually grip the knife’s body. A button on top of the knife sits directly on your palm, which gets pressed whenever you close your hand to trigger the spring-loaded stainless steel blade inside to slide out. From there, you just use it to cut through boxes, packages, and similar materials. Opening your hand automatically eases the pressure on the button, which prompts the blade to automatically retract, so the blade never sits out if you don’t plan to use it, making it so much safer than your standard utility knife. It uses standard trapezoid blades, by the way, so it should be easy to replace when it dulls.

A slide switch on the body lets you lock the button so it can’t be pressed, allowing you to keep the knife in hand without danger of accidentally deploying the blade. The rings, can be positioned at various angles, so you can find whatever position is more comfortable. They’re swappable, too, with two sizes of rings included, so it can fit those with smaller and bigger fingers alike.

The Dani Blade is available now, priced at $29.95.
