We’re big fans of Converse’s new Modern line, which updates some of their classic sneakers, like the All Star and the Auckland, into more contemporary silhouettes. Truth be told, though, we weren’t all the excited with the Chuck Taylor update. That impression, however, changes with the new Converse Chuck Taylor Modern Lux.
A luxury version of the revamped Chuck Taylor silhouette, the shoe pairs the updated model with premium materials and a minimalist aesthetic. Seriously, it looks like one of those $300 boutique sneakers that knock off the Chuck Taylor styling, except, you know, it’s actually from Converse.
The Converse Chuck Taylor Modern Lux has a three-piece upper cut in supple molded mono leather, with a monochromatic colorway that gives it a clean and streamlined appearance that should pair well with a whole load of outfits in your closet. They fuse that upper to a full-length Phylon outsole in matching colors, which provides lightweight cushion to keep you comfortable during all-day wear.
Features include an embossed logo on the medial side of the ankle, embossed eyestays and toe cap, high rubber foxing, and raw edge round leather laces. It comes in two colorways: white and black.
Available now, the Converse Chuck Taylor Modern Lux is priced at $140.
