Blizwheel E-Scooter Pro Equipped with multiple folding joints, this electric scooter compacts to a size that will fit in most backpacks.

Motorized scooters are great. They get you to your destination at a decent pace (or a crazy, fast pace), they fold in half so you can take them indoors, and they make an erstwhile boring commute just a little more fun. The Blizwheel E-Scooter Pro does the same things, all while collapsing into a much more compact size for even better portability.

How compact? Well, much more compact than any scooter we’ve seen, coming in at dimensions of just 15.6 x 6.4 x 3.9 inches (length x height x thickness) when folded. That makes it small enough to fit into backpacks and other bags, sparing you from the hassle of walking around with a long folded scooter in your hands that bumps into everything around you.

The Blizwheel E-Scooter Pro rides much like any motorized scooter, with a deck to secure your feet and a handlebar to give you something to grab onto while it’s moving. Unlike other electric scooters, however, the deck is able to fold in half and the handlebar is mounted on a telescoping tube, allowing it to collapse into a highly compact size that we’ve never seen before in the category. Not only is it able to fold small, it’s lightweight, too, at just 11.9 pounds, as it uses a hollow design throughout the aircraft-grade aluminum construction. That means, not only will it fit in your backpack, it won’t weight you down nearly as much as a traditional electric scooter.

While it can fold into that compact size, it can also collapse at a similar size to traditional electric scooters. You’ll want to fold it that way in case you want to drag it across the ground when taking the train or going to a store, as it lets you use the wheel to pull the whole thing like a piece of rolling luggage.

The Blizwheel E-Scooter Pro is powered by a pair of 300W brushless motors that allow it to ride at maximum speeds of up to 15 mph, so it should let you cover that last mile of your daily commute pretty quickly, while a 289Wh battery feeds the necessary power to the motors at a maximum range of up to 15 miles. It boasts a smooth ride, too, courtesy of the onboard suspension system that gives it 3.2 inches of ground clearance, which should be enough to ride you comfortably through most city roads. A mechanical brake on the rear allows you to quickly put the ride to a stop, while an LED screen on the handlebar shows you speed, mileage, and battery life, ensuring you have full information about the ride at all times.

According to the outfit, it can support riders up to 200 pounds, so even bigger dudes can ride it without any trouble. Other features include signal lights both front and rear for safe riding at night, IP65 waterproof rating, and a charging time of 8 hours.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Blizwheel E-Scooter Pro. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at $499.
