Remember the ultra-high-top sneakers Sigourney Weaver wore in the 1986 Aliens movie? Probably not. In terms of classic movie sneakers, most people never get beyond Marty McFly’s Air Mags, after all. Whether you remember it or not, though, you’ll soon have a chance to buy them when these Reebok Alien Stompers land on your favorite stockists’ shelves.
For the first time, Reebok is releasing the exact replica of the same footwear that adorned Ellen Ripley’s feet throughout the course of the movie. No, not the mid-top version like they did a while back (which was also in the movie, but was worn by one of the androids), but the full extra-high top version that looks like it can be at home on the feet of a pro-wrestler with a space cadet gimmick of some sort.
There aren’t many details so far about the Reebok Alien Stompers, other than that it’s a dead-ringer for the movie version, replicating everything from the design to the dimensions to the red-white-and-gray colorway. Given that anyone who buys it will probably do either out of nostalgia or for its value as a collectible, we doubt the details are all that important, either. I mean, it’s not like they’re putting a technical shoe with elements designed for battling alien invaders or something. You want Ellen Ripley’s shoes and these look exactly like them, making for an instantly desirable pair.
The Reebok Alien Stompers will come out April 27, alongside a slew of other Alien-related merchandise.
