Wide Path Camper

As a knee-jerk reaction, buying a Wide Path Camper seems like a really good idea. A small camper that can be hauled by a folding bike certainly lowers the barrier to entry when it comes to camping vehicles. But then you realize you’ll have to haul an entire camper. With supplies. Using your legs. On a tiny bike. Hey… it could work.

Granted, you don’t have to tow the camper on a small folding bike. You can probably hook it up to a more powerful adventure bike, an electric bike, or even a motorcycle if you really don’t want to do the equivalent of 15 leg days for a weekend camping trip. It’s still the same awesome small camper, after all, ready to nestle you in sheltered comfort in the midst of the wild outdoors.

The Wide Path Camper is a 100-pound trailer that measures 3.2 x 4.3 feet (w x l). Billed as the “first foldable bicycle camper,” it stands around five feet and can be expanded to twice the length once you’ve made it to the lake where you’re planning to spend the night. Once expanded, it offers a combined interior space of 8.5 x 3.25 feet, with an integrated bed that can sleep two people under its protective roof.   When you’re not sleeping, the bed transforms into two-separate sitting areas that can accommodate four people, with a table in the middle. Features include 300-liters of storage space under the bed/seats, an optional exterior table for dining al fresco, and an optional solar package that can have it outfitted with a 12-volt solar power generator to enjoy some electric-powered creature comforts on the road (or just to charge your e-bike because pedaling this thing is hell).
