Victorinox Swiss Champ XXL Measuring 3.6 x 2.5 inches, this "pocket" multi-tool comes with 73 functions, including five knives, over a dozen drivers, and more.

Chances are, you don’t need another Swiss Army-style multi-tool in your EDC collection. It’s one of the first things most of us pick up when we get into multi-tools, after all. The Victorinox Swiss Champ XXL, though, makes its case by being downright absurd, turning out a multi-tool in a pocket knife form factor that will absolutely not fit in anyone’s pocket.

Yes, it’s one of those multi-tools that you absolutely won’t be taking with you everywhere you go, but makes for a fun enough novelty that it’s definitely cool to have one in your stash at home. Plus, it’s not that big that it won’t fit in an external pocket of your backpack, so you can still take it with you every day, just so long as you don’t keep in one of your pants’ pockets.

The Victorinox Swiss Champ XXL isn’t the largest multi-tool we’ve seen. In fact, it’s not even the biggest in the Swiss Army lineup, so it’s not that unreasonable. Dimensions are actually 3.6 x 2.5 inches, so it’s just as long as a typical pocket knife from the outfit, albeit with a much wider profile that will make it uncomfortable to stash in your clothing. With a 2.5-inch width, it’s just narrow enough that many folks should be able to grip it, too, which actually makes it a viable tool for getting various stuff done.

For that size, you get a whopping 73 functions, all easily accessible by pulling them out of their designated slot in the frame. Chief among them are five separate knives, with a large blade, a small blade, a large blade with a serrated edge, a pruning blade, and an electrician’s blade, which, we guess, is for skinning rubber off electric wires. Or something.

The Victorinox Swiss Champ XXL also gets a bunch of drivers and wrenches, over a dozen of them actually, allowing you to use it with a variety of screws, bolts, and other fastening hardware. There’s an integrated LED, so you don’t need to carry a flashlight, as well as a pressurized ballpoint pen, although we’re not sure how well you can write having to grip that wide frame. All the usual tools you’ll find in high-function multi-tools are onboard, from scissors, chisels, and files to tweezers, toothpicks, and all sorts of openers (cans, bottles, corks), so it’s one versatile all-rounder.

Since it makes room for 73 functions, there are some specialized tools here that may appeal to some and not to others. There is, for instance, a fish scaler and a hook discorger, just in case you decide to go fishing for dinner, as well as a pharmaceutical spatula for… yeah… we’re not really sure what pharmacists use that for. There’s even a watch opener for folks who like to tinker with their timepieces. Basically, it has everything you’ll need and some you’ll probably never use, all inside the iconic Swiss Army shell that we all know and love.

The Victorinox Swiss Champ XXL is available now, priced at $315.99.
