Timex may not bring the prestige that Swiss brands do when you wear their timepieces on your wrist, but you can’t deny that the outfit makes some seriously good watches at the most affordable prices. We’re especially fans of the outfit’s relatively recent Waterbury collection, which combines both classical styling and contemporary elements into stylishly beautiful watches. Our new favorite? This Timex x Red Wing Waterbury Chronograph Watch, which pairs their Waterbury chrono model with a band cut in one of the Red Wing’s premium leathers.

Originally released in Japan last year, Timex has decided to bring it to American shores after designer Todd Snyder successfully used the Red Wing collaboration models at his New York Fashion Week show. And, man, does this watch deserve the esteem, with its stylish looks that’s rugged enough to pair with tee-and-jeans, while being dressy enough to still look good when worn with less-casual fare.

The Timex x Red Wing Waterbury Chronograph Watch has a dial based on a mid-20th century military watch (hence, the retro feel), with a matte black background that only serves to reinforce the old-timey aesthetic. It pairs that design with a 42mm brushed stainless steel case, mineral glass crystal, and 30 meters of water resistance, along with a quartz analog movement. Features include INDIGLO Night-Light for easy visibility in the dark, dual chronograph dials (measures up to 1/20th of a second), and a premium leather band that’s guaranteed to age beautifully.
