Love them or hate them, you have to admit, Bremont makes some handsome-looking pilot watches with a modern and contemporary design language. Simply put, they make watches that do they look like they were dreamed up this decade. But what kind of product would the company have turned out if it was running back in the mid-century heyday of the pilot’s watch? The Timeless x Bremont U2/T sort of answers that question.

A limited edition collaboration with watch retailer, Timeless, the timepiece is actually a redesigned version of Bremont’s existing U2, taking the basic elements of the spy pilot watch and giving it a mid-century makeover. By that, we mean it looks like it would fit right on the wrist of a flyer during WWII, turning out a tool watch that’s simpler and cleaner than the original.

The Timeless x Bremont U2/T retains the original’s three-part 43mm case, along with the knurled middle barrel and the inner rotating ring you operate with the second crown. Instead of the elapsed time ring on the original, however, that ring comes with a 12-hour scale for keeping track of a second time zone, while the date function is eliminated to adhere more closely to the pilot watch aesthetic of the era. It comes with a matte black dial, with vintage luminous paint on the indicators and blued steel hands for low-light visibility.

Features include a hardened steel case, a bronze-colored center barrel, BE-36AE chronometer movement, and a black leather strap. There’s also a Lone Star on the lower barrel as a nod to Timeless’ Texas roots.

Available now, the Timeless x Bremont U2/T Watch is priced at $5,495.
