Taylor Stitch may not be known for outfitting urban commuters. That, however, is exactly what they’re doing to start the new year, introducing a new line aimed at the everyday commuter riding their road bikes to work every single morning. Our pick of the lot? The Taylor Stitch Civic Commuter Chino, a slim-fitting pair of pants that looks perfect for those daily trips to work.

A slim pair of chinos, it’s dressy enough to pass off as work pants (provided they don’t require business suits in your office), all while casual enough to slip on most anywhere else. It’s cut close, too, with the perfect amount of slim to ensure it never gets caught in your bike chain while providing plenty of mobility.

The Taylor Stitch Civic Commuter Chino is made from Merino 4S, a blend of 70 percent Merino wool and 30 percent Sorona. While you probably already know the technical properties of the former (it is exhaustive and impressive), the latter is a plant-based alternative to nylon and polyester that adds extra softness, tensile strength, and stretch without losing its shape. It takes on a classic and stylish flat-front chino profile.
