Can a credit-card sized tool serve as a functional axe? We’re not entirely sure, either, but it sure looks like it will be fun trying to find out with this Credit Card Axe.
Made by Survco Tactical, it’s a credit card-sized survival tool that you can attach to the end of a stick, giving yourself what looks to be a serviceable hatchet. Like we said, the actual functionality is highly-questionable, but Survco claims it’s sharp and strong enough to debark small trees, although we’d probably restrict it to chopping off branches, small logs, and twigs.
The Survco Credit Card Axe consists of two snap-off parts: a wide blade that serves as an axe head and a sharp tip that can be used as an arrow or a spear. Both parts are designed to attach to any stick using ordinary zip ties, so you can set up your tool in a jiffy. Aside from those two applications, it comes with 19 other integrated functions, including a saw, a seatbelt cutter, multi-hex wrench, a flathead screwdriver, and more, making for one versatile tool that you can use whether at home or out in the wild.
Construction is 12-gauge stainless steel, so it should have some durability, with dimensions of 3.6 x 2.1 inches (l x w) for easily slipping into a card slot on your wallet. Do note, it doesn’t come with a sheath, putting the blade out in the open while lodged in your wallet, so you may want to find a way to make sure it doesn’t end up slicing your favorite leather billfold before using.
Available now, the Survco Credit Card Axe is priced at $22.75.
