Boomboxes are great for their portability. While they can get loud, there’s usually a limit when they’re using battery power, requiring you to plug in to an outlet to get the maximum sound. That’s not the case with the Soundboks.

Billed as “the loudest battery-powered speaker,” it can blast sound levels up to 119 decibels, making it much louder than most nightclubs and on par with the PA systems at many concerts. And, yes, you can really carry it around like a large boombox, so you can have it playing your music at tailgates, beach parties, and other outdoor gatherings.

Since it’s designed for outdoor use, the Soundboks comes with a rugged case that can shrug off water, shock, and extreme temperatures, so you can bring it to a rowdy party without worrying about inflicting serious damage. Do note, it’s not styled like a traditional boombox, taking on a cabinet design that resembles roadie cases to match the rugged construction with an equally robust aesthetic. Now, cranking the volume to 11 usually means sapping the battery really badly. Fortunately, since the speaker is quite big, they were able to fit in a good size of battery in there, allowing it to provide a whopping 30 hours of playback in a single charge at 113 db and 8 hours at the maximum 119.
