Nike’s version of the track and field jacket has long been a staple in the brand’s line of garments, having been decked in every technical fabric the outfit has ever developed. For the NikeLab x Stone Island Windrunner, however, they turn over the reins to the Italian premium menswear brand, turning out a jacket that’s quite unlike any of its previous iterations.

Benefiting from the fabric innovation, engineering, and dyeing techniques of Stone Island, the classic track jacket gets an energetic makeover, giving the long-running design a whole new look for the coming season. It does that while retaining the raglan sleeves and 26-degree chevron that the jacket has sported since 1978, ensuring it innovates while staying true to a long-running tradition.

The NikeLab x Stone Island Windrunner’s construction is divided in two parts: an upper section made from Hyper Lite Membrana 7-denier nylon and a lower panel decked in Membrana 3L TC nylon. Both get coated with a wind- and water-resistant membrane to ensure it handles the crankier autumn weather,  with an ultra-lightweight fabric lining on the lower half for comfort. For breathability, it gets eyelets under the arms, mesh lining on the upper section, and vents at the chevron to keep things cool even while staying covered from the elements.

Features include stretch mesh at the cuff, reflective elements on the zip pulls, and a packable design that allows the jacket to bundle into the left pocket, then transform into a messenger bag for carrying comfortably. It comes in six colors.

Available now, the NikeLab x Stone Island Windrunner is priced at $650.
