Few garments that came out in the last 15 years have generated more acclaim than Nigel Cabourn’s Cameraman Jacket. That’s why it’s become an annual staple of the outfit’s lineup every summer and autumn. This year, it returns in the form of the Nigel Cabourn Cameraman Converse Jacket.
That’s right, this new version is a collaboration with Converse and will come accompanied by a special Chuck Taylor model that’s expected to debut soon. It retains the same hybrid vintage styling that made the original a modern style icon, making for a reliable addition to any cold weather wardrobe, whether for the daily life in the city or adventuring in the mountain.
The Nigel Cabourn Cameraman Converse Jacket is cut in dry wax-finished Harris tweed, which has been specially-developed for the outfit, along with two layers of contrasting-colored L34 ventile on the inner and outer upper sections. It comes with a three-panel adjustable hood to keep your head dry in the thick of rain, which you can cinch using the waxed draw cords with leather locks, along with adjustable cuffs. All the traditional elements of the Cameraman are onboard, including the five front patch pockets, secondary side access on the hand warmer pockets, the iconic Fireman clips, and Corozo buttons below it.
If that bulge in the front of the jacket in the photo annoys you, that’s supposed to be the camera. The Nigel Cabourn Cameraman Converse Jacket is priced at $1,400.
