For some folks, a small messenger bag is enough to carry their everyday gear. If your daily load isn’t quite light and sparse enough for a simple messenger to accommodate, then a bigger bag like those in Mission Workshop’s Transit Series should make for a suitable upgrade.
Consisting of two designs, a laptop bag and a duffle bag, the line provides stylish options, depending on how much gear you’ll need to bring along. Opt for the former if you need to bring a laptop, a portfolio, and a few other items for work, but pick up the latter if you’re throwing in a change of clothes and a couple of packages along like a real messenger usually does.
Both bags from the Mission Workshop Transit Series are made from ultra-durable HT500 fabric that’s lined with a urethane-coated ripstop nylon to ensure it successfully protects your gear, regardless of prevailing weather conditions. The laptop bag takes on briefcase-sized dimensions, with enough room to accommodate 90 liters of storage in the main compartment, which comes with a zippered padded laptop sleeve and two cargo pockets, along with four cargo pockets on the outside. The duffel, on the other hand, fits 31 liters of content, with a removable zippered laptop sleeve and four cargo pockets on the inside, as well as four cargo pockets on the shell.
Optimized for bicycle commuting, each bag comes with attachment points for securely fastening onto bike racks, along with hide-away grab handles and removable shoulder straps. For those times the load is too heavy, the duffel comes with a harness that lets you carry it like a backpack.
The Mission Workshop Transit Series Laptop and Duffel are available now, priced at $225 and $245, respectively.
