We’re big fans of the Marshall Major’s classic yet stylish looks, which bear closer cosmetic resemblance to the outfit’s amps than any existing line of on-ear cans. However, it’s also five years old, making it high time to upgrade the headphones to something with a more current function. That’s what the Marshall Major II is all about.

While it retains the same old-school rock and roll aesthetics as the original, the new headphones now come with Bluetooth, allowing you to ditch the cable and listen to your tunes wirelessly. That makes it a whole lot more convenient for on-the-go use, whether you’re commuting on the train, going on an overseas flight, or just tuning out the noisy banter at the local coffee shop.

The Marshall Major II Headphones come with 40mm dynamic drivers that, the outfit claims, are custom-tuned for “excellent bass response, smooth mids, and screaming highs.” Because it’s now fitted with Bluetooth, it has an onboard battery that can hold enough charge to keep it running for up to 30 hours of playback, with an integrated 3.5mm slot for plugging in the accompanying cable to keep it functional when the batteries run out. Oh, yeah, a friend can plug in their own headphones in the same slot, so they can listen to whatever tunes you’re currently streaming.

Since losing the cable means no more inline remote, it comes with an analog control knob on one of the cans for playback, volume control, and answering phone calls. While the headband isn’t foldable, the cans do fold inwards, allowing it to compact for convenient transport.

Available now, the Marshall Major II is priced at $150.
