King Kong Backpack II We're not sure if it will survive a beating by the colossal movie gorilla, but King Kong's backpack should hold up to the hazards of everyday life.

We’re pretty sure King Kong never used a backpack in his life. I mean, it’s not like he packed clothes, work gear, or a laptop. If he ever does need a backpack for carrying a generous supply of bananas, though, we guess he’d look for something like this King Kong Backpack II. Except, maybe a little bigger to match his oversized gorilla frame.

If you’re familiar with King Kong (the bag outfit), then you probably know them from their duffle – a badass weekender-sized bag that’s built to last for many, many years. They bring the same durable construction with this second-generation backpack, which combines ultra-tough materials, generous size, and a highly-utilitarian design.

The King Kong Backpack II has a generous main compartment that can open flat like luggage, making it easy to organize your gear in an efficient arrangement, with a padded laptop pouch that can hold up to 15-inch computers. There’s a quick-access padded pocket up top for your phone and other valuables, a shoe compartment out front that’s also sized to hold King Kong’s optional meal bag, expandable water bottle pockets on each side, and numerous pockets in different sizes for smaller pieces of gear. It comes with a sternum strap and a breathable fit to ensure comfort.

Construction is mil-spec 1000D nylon, which is, pretty much, as tough as a bag canvas can get, with rip-stop nylon on the inside for even more durable reinforcement. Nylon webbings and threads ensure it will hold up to years and years of use, along with heavy-duty buckles (4,400-pound breaking strength) and YKK zippers.

Available for preorder now with a May ship date, the King Kong Backpack II is priced at $129.95.
