A minimalist, Bauhaus-inspired timepiece never fails to make a good impression on anyone’s wrist. Especially when it’s an homage that captures the modernist essence as well as the Huckleberry & Co Archibald.

The debut timepiece from the upstart Australian outfit, it’s the kind of watch that should wear well whether you’re decked in a double-breasted business suit or a shirt-and-jeans ensemble, making for a versatile watch that you can slip on for most any occasion. Suffice to say, it’s elegant enough to serve as a dress watch while stripped-down enough for daily wear, making it a great addition to anyone’s modestly-priced watch collection.

The Huckleberry & Co Archibald has a case measuring 40 x 11 mm (diameter x thickness), done up in either polished stainless or rose gold PVD. Instead of tapering, they chose to keep the sides of the case straight, giving the timepiece a bit more chunk as an extra facet of the simplified design. It has a modernist dial that features Arabic numerals, small indicators, and an equally small print of the company logo at the 9 o’clock, creating of plenty of open space that makes the dial feel clean and uncluttered. Features include 20mm wired lugs, a thin crown with a knurled dial, a flat sapphire crystal, a transparent case back, and 5ATM water resistance. It runs on a Japanese Miyota 9132 automatic movement, with 40 hours of power reserve.
