It doesn’t matter whether you own your home or rent it: every guy needs a hammer around for those occasional repair jobs that you can handle on your own. And if you’re going to get a hammer for your house, it may as well be one that makes those repair jobs as convenient as possible. That’s exactly what Fiskar’s IsoCore General Use Hammer is designed for.

A part of the outfit’s IsoCore line of hammers, it’s equipped with a shock control system that absorbs strike shocks and vibrations to reduce the amount of punishment that makes its way to your body. According to Fiskar, their hammers provide four times less shock and vibration than comparable hammers with wooden handles, so even day-long repair jobs can feel less-taxing.

The Fiskars IsoCore General Use Hammer comes in three variants: a 16-oz hammer with a milled face for gripping nail heads and a 15.5 inch handle; a 20-oz version with a 13.5-inch handle; and a 20-oz model with a 15.5-inch handle. Each one uses the same head design that’s ideal for nail-driving duties around the house, with the patented IsoCore system reducing shocks, a shock-insulation sleeve, and a dual-layer handle for taking most of any remaining vibrations. There’s also a sound-dampening insert that reduces the potential ringing, as well as a handle flare for keeping it firmly in hand during swings. Features include dimpled texturing on the sculpted handle for maximum grip, heat-treated steel construction, and a rip claw, so you can pull nails without rummaging in your toolbox for an extra tool.
