Sometimes, it’s the simple designs that stand out. That definitely applies to the Filson Wild Bill Leather Duffle, a minimalist bag that brings a luxurious aesthetic without the frills of fancy labels and excessive ornamentation.

If you’re curious about the moniker, the bag is named after Wild Bill Cleaver, a fisherman who eventually transitioned into leather goods after building a custom holster for his gun. Mr. Cleaver’s shop on Washington State’s Vashon Island actually produces the bags, where it’s carefully put together to ensure it holds up to many years of use.

The Filson Wild Bill Leather Duffle is just one big solid hunk of leather that’s been cut and sewn into a spacious travel bag, with no fancy accents, decorative patterns, or unnecessary dressing. It measures 18 x 12 x 12 inches (w x h x d), so it can probably hold a week’s worth of clothes for wherever you’re planning to hole up this summer. Construction is dry-milled chap leather (I’m assuming, this is the leather they use for the leg protection cowboys wear in the rodeo) in a gorgeous cream color, with the accompanying strap done up in a contrast brown hide. They combine that with hand-peened copper rivets and solid brass hardware for long-term durability, along with a pair of carry handles on top.
