We’ve always known Fender for their badass guitars and amps. Over the last few years, though, headphones have become a bigger business than ever and Fender has certainly noticed. The Fender FXA7 Pro Earphones is the outfit’s entry into the in-ear monitors space.

Instead of developing a new headphones division from scratch, the company decided to acquire boutique audiophile favorite, Aurisonics, which specializes in custom-fit and universal-fit in-ear monitors. As such, the earphones leverage the outfit’s existing tech, whose praises have been sung by its customer base of professional musicians and dedicated audiophiles.

The Fender FXA7 Pro Earphones is the high-end model in the company’s new line of earphones, boasting “lush, realistic audio” and “articulate performance.” It uses a patented tech called Hybrid-Dynamic and Balanced Armature (HDBA) array, which combine custom 9.25mm rare earth drivers, a Groove-tuned port, and a specially-designed pair of tweeters to produce crossover-free sounds that carry a “punchy bass, rich mids and crisp high end with a frequency response from 6Hz-24kHz.” Like other in-ears, they’re designed for mobile use, sporting a low profile that makes them convenient for keeping around everywhere you go.

Of course, the in-ears use Aurisonics’ 3-D Printed Digital Hybrid Technology Shell, which is designed to fit 95 percent of ears so snug they will feel like custom-molded monitors once combined with the included assortment of SureSeal tips.   Features include noise-cancellation up to 22 dB, detachable silver-plated low-oxygen cable, and hearing-protection tech.

Slated for availability soon, the Fender FXA7 Pro is priced at $499.
