A riding jacket isn’t exactly the first thing that came to mind the first time I saw the Draugr Motorcycle Coat. I mean, the darn thing looks like something you’ll wear while attending a high-fashion event – not exactly the kind of aesthetic motorcycle jackets are known for. But, alas, this stellar demonstration of sartorial chops definitely delivers the rider protection and support you’ll need each time you get on your favorite motorized steed.

Made by Vaktare MG, the jacket takes the styling of tailored pea coats and reinforces it with the kind of coverage anyone atop a high-speed two-wheeler is going to require. Granted, hitting the road on this thing will quickly get you labeled by fellow riding friends as the crew’s resident biker fashionista, which, when you think about it, isn’t really all that bad. Not so much, anyway.

The Draugr Motorcycle Coat uses thick Melton wool for the shell, a Bemburg lining for comfortable wear, and a layer of 1,000-denier cordura between them to provide serious abrasion resistance. Pockets on the shoulders and elbows allow you to add a layer of armor (they recommend ForceField Net) for even better physical protection, with the wool ensuring both proper insulation and breathability. Simply put, this should offer the same protection as any riding jacket from the local motorcycle shop, all while looking leagues better. Features include bonded nylon stitching throughout the seams, Kevlar-stitched front buttons, and button snap closures on the front pockets to keep your gear protected.
