Some people drink whiskey the same way they drink water, just dumping the thing in their mouth until they’re satisfied. Others like to savor their spirits, delighting in the scents and flavors as they take measured, deliberate sips. The D&L Whisky Glass is made for that second group of folks.

Made by Melbourne design outfit David & Leily, it’s a whiskey glass that seeks to elevate the drinking experience by “exploring the deepest, darkest depths” of your favorite aged brown spirit. And it’s not just lip service, either, as the glass incorporates an entirely novel design that really does allow for better enjoying any drink you pour.

The David & Leily Whisky Glass enables the unique function by combining design elements of two of the most popular drinkware. Specifically, it takes the ever-ubiquitous whiskey tumbler and combines it with the more specialized bourbon snifter, turning out an entirely new drinking glass that combines their best parts. Like snifters, it uses a wide bottom to give the spirit room to open up, while funneling aroma to the narrow top for wafting the scents straight to your nose. Unlike them, though, it ditches the stem, while taking on a profile that’s similar to traditional tumblers, making it just as suitable for enjoying your libations on the rocks or mixed into a cocktail.
