Casbia x Champion AWOL Atlanta This collaboration between Casbia and Champion turns out a basketball silhouette that looks straight out of the '77 punk era.

Minimalism appears to be a guiding idea for a lot of modern sneakers. If an element isn’t necessary, take it out. The Casbia x Champion AWOL Atlanta feels like the antithesis, as it combines zippers, laces, and ultra-thick sole for a really busy silhouette that stands out in our contemporary times.

At first glance, we’ll have to guess it’s a basketball shoe – the kind you wear when you’re shooting hoops at the local hardcourt while dressing yourself in high-street fashion from head to toe. We don’t know how it’ll actually help while you perform a crossover, take a half step before a layup, or run up and down the court, but it can definitely lend your basketball outfit a whole new aesthetic.

The Casbia x Champion AWOL Atlanta is a burly and busy basketball shoe reminiscent of old school sneakers, with a zippered tongue closure that looks straight out of 70s-era punk fashion. The upper is cut in premium leather construction, with a leather lining for comfortable wear and durable function. It has a weird-looking dual-asymmetrical lacing system that, the outfit claims, will allow you to quickly tighten the shoe without the usual knotting hassles of traditional lacing systems.

Features include metal eyelets, a padded collar and heel, a perforated toe box and side panel, a rubber midsole, heel pulls, and a Champion rubber outsole. It comes with joint Casbia and Champion branding – the former debossed on the tongue and the latter embroidered on the side panel.

Available now, the Casbia x Champion AWOL Atlanta is priced at $443.
