You can have speakers installed in every area of the house, so you can enjoy music whether you’re cooking, fixing the car, or giving the dog a bath. If you live alone, though, having more speakers than companions does feel somewhat overkill, so maybe just buy a small speaker that you won’t mind bringing from room to room. If you want the best sound you can find in a speaker sized to do that, the Bose SoundTouch 10 sure looks like an enticing option.
The smallest speaker in the outfit’s SoundTouch line, it measures just 8.34 x 5.56 x 3.43 inches and weighs 2.89 pounds, making it a breeze to move around anywhere in the house. Granted, it’s not exactly designed for portable use, so you’ll have to find an outlet every time and plug in. Beyond that, though, it should get the deed done, with a sound that’s way better than you can get from a Jambox and its ilk.
If you’re already invested in Bose’s SoundTouch system, then the SoundTouch 10 should make for a great bedroom, kitchen, or home office speaker. It’s small enough that you can easily position it out of the way, whether on the side table, the kitchen counter, or the work desk, with the 2.5-inch Unidome speaker producing a big enough sound to adequately fill a small room. Features include WiFi for crystal-clear wireless streaming, Bluetooth as an alternative option (leaving the Sonos Play line as one of the few remaining holdouts still without the ubiquitous streaming protocol), and, of course, multi-room audio that lets you play the same tunes across every compatible speaker around the house. It still retains the same six programmable presets from other SoundTouch speakers, with support for Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and Deezer integrated into the system.
Available now, the Bose SoundTouch 10 is priced at $199.95.
