If there’s any knock to make on power banks, it’s the fact that they require frequent charging, too. I mean, you already have to plug in a whole host of gadgets when you get home at night – why can’t they make power banks that just magically charge themselves? Turns out, they did. It’s called the Ampy Move.

Billed as “the world’s first wearable motion charger,” it’s a portable battery that can generate charge using kinetic energy. Just put it on your bag while you walk to work, clip it on your body during exercise, or attach it to anywhere that will constantly move (like a restless, hyper-energetic puppy) to get the onboard battery all juiced up, ready to replenish your smartphone’s charge once you’re down to a single, fast-dwindling bar.

The Ampy Move is a small device about the size of a deck of cards that houses a 1,800 mAh battery and a pair of inductors that convert any movement into usable power. It comes with dual charging ports for hooking up two devices at the same time, LED indicators so you can see how much charge you have left, and a unique contoured shape that’s designed to match body curves, so you can strap it to an arm or leg for better power generation (it charges most efficiently with up and down motion). According to the website, an hour of exercise should produce enough power to enable an hour of mixed use for your smartphone. While not exactly earth-shattering, that’s still impressive, especially since other power banks won’t reward you with anything after an hour of working out.

Slated to drop December 1st, the Ampy Move is priced at $99.
