Few places in the US experience winters as unforgiving as Northern Minnesota. As such, it’s no surprise Vasque’s newest winter hiking boot, the Lost 40, was designed and tested in the area, ensuring it’s duly-equipped to handle the nastiest weather snow season has to offer.

Built for extreme cold and icy conditions, this thing lets you hit the trails in the thick of inclement weather, ensuring you can hike in comfort, regardless of what snow season brings. Whether you need to secure your footing on slippery terrains or keep your feet toasty in the biting cold, this thing delivers it with serious aplomb.

The Vasque Lost 40 has an outer boot cut in a mix of 2mm waterproof rough out leather and a breathable softshell textile, ensuring it’s flexible, durable, and impenetrable to water. Inside, it combines 7mm thick inner boot cut in felted wool, with a waterproof membrane right outside it to keep out moisture while retaining heat. All that is fused to a Vibram Overland outsole that’s molded in IceTrek rubber compound, ensuring it retains flexibility and traction even in extremely slippery terrain.

It comes with dual-zone lacing, so you can adjust both the instep and the shaft, respectively, with a lace garage that keeps the ends tucked away for a snag-free fit. Features include an internal dual-density EVA midsole, aerospace-grade Aerogel underfoot foam insulation, generously-sized finger loops on both the outer and inner boot.

Available now, the Vasque Lost 40 is priced at $179.99.
