Triumph & Disaster Ponsonby Pomade This hair-styling product keeps a medium-strength hold for 24 hours, washes easily before you sleep, and contains dragon's blood. Really.

Old-school pomades may have been great at keeping a hold on your hairstyle, but they were greasy and nearly-impossible to wash off in one go, making it highly likely you’ll be getting the stuff all over the pillows by the time you hit the bunk. While those kinds of pomade still make the rounds (hey, some people are hardcore about their grooming products), there are plenty of more convenient options if you enjoy the shine and strong hold of the traditional hair styling substance. Triumph & Disaster’s new haircare range for fall includes an interesting one called Ponsonby Pomade.

A water-based product, it contains no petroleum, so you won’t carry that icky, greasy feel that makes girls refuse to touch your hair because they don’t want gross sticky stuff on their hands. It’s designed to maintain its medium-strength hold all day and all night, too, all while easily washing off with a quick shower at the end of your day (use shampoo).

The best part? The Triumph & Disaster Ponsonby Pomade uses dragon blood as one of its main ingredients. Yes, blood drenched from the neck of a slain dragon hunted down from the wild continent of Westeros. We’re kidding, of course, since dragon’s blood is actually a red resin that’s been used since ancient times, but nobody has to know that, so you can totally tell folks you style your hair with genuine dragon blood (not to mention, exfoliate your face with volcanic rocks). Oh yeah, this comes with a slight hint of that medicinal fragrance that reeks of old-fashioned barber shops, so it’s actually going to smell like classic pomade.

Available now, the Triumph & Disaster Ponsonby Pomade is priced at NZD $45.
