KLAD fabricates pipe spools to ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Code from Project supplied Isometric Drawings.

When only OD access is available, as in small diameter Piping spools and/or field welds, piping girth welds are produced with GTAW root and hot pass using an over-alloyed consumable, and the remaining weld is completed with a more convenient and approved welding procedure.

When ID access is available, as in pressure vessels and large applications, KLAD components are welded with matching strength carbon steel filler metals for joining, and the ID is completed with a CRA that is equal to or better than the cladding alloy.

Welds are 100% radiographed as required and spools hydro-tested per client specifications.

KLAD provides complete turnkey services to design and fabricate Clad, solid Stainless and High Alloy Pressure Vessels, Drums, Towers, Absorber Columns and Hydro-Treater Reactors for the Refining, Oil and Gas, Chemical Process and other Industries following ASME Code Section VIII, Division 1.

Most planned pressure vessels are fabricated using Clad Plates, typically comprising of Carbon, 1¼Cr, 2¼Cr steels with Stainless Steels, Alloys 825, 625, C276, B3 and others Cladding alloys. KLAD has developed manufacturing and welding procedures for fabrication of temper embrittlement resistant 1¼Cr, 2¼Cr Pressure Vessels, with controlled chemistry base and weld materials for Reactors, Separators, etc.


KLAD has developed a unique capability to fabricate complete, new Pressure Vessels or replacement sections for existing Pressure Vessels by Weld Overlay. This is particularly useful when clad plates deliveries are extended and are not available for the Project.

For these emergency situations, KLAD can design and manufacture the Pressure Vessel in an expedited schedule. Replacement, repair and/or modifications under critical delivery schedules, such as for turnaround projects, are easily handled by this Weld Overlay production method, which cuts the production schedule by more than 50% for Vessel fabrication.

Transfer Line Headers, Heat Exchanger Shells and Channel Covers, weld overlaid Tube Sheet blanks and other large specialty fabrications are routinely produced.
