Overlay Piping Products

Weld Overlay represents a very effective technique for production of KLAD® piping and pressure vessel components, as it can produce a wide range of combinations of CS/CRA materials. The process is extremely flexible, from producing one component to that of a complete Bill of Material for a piping or vessel project. Given that it can start instantaneously, the process is very suitable for production of piping and vessel components and/or complete system for expedited and emergency schedules.

Weld Overlay duplicates the same CS/CRA combinations as those available in clad plate. The Weld Overlay process selection is critical in determining the thickness, chemistry and quality of the deposit and thereby its performance of the product. KLAD overlays start from 1½" bore size for nozzles and overlays seamless pipes, fittings, flanges, vessel shell courses, heads and various other products detailed here. KLAD has extensive capacity available and produces routine components in quick turnaround to complete piping systems and pressure vessels meeting plant emergency shutdown schedules. In addition to standard piping products, overlay can produce components with complex geometries, as in valve bodies and other complicated products.
