The great thing about a well-designed watch is it never goes out of style. It transcends time, trends, and individual tastes. We see this in a whole range of classic watches, which look just as good on your wrist now as they did in your grandpa’s from back in the day. That same classic aesthetic beats at the heart of the Oris Divers Sixty-Five, a diver’s watch that first appeared in the Swiss outfit’s collection 50 years ago.

Revived for 2016, this blue dial variant of the timepiece recreates much of the exact same elements as the original, from the case design to the dial layout to the in-house modified Selita SW-200 movement. This one, in fact, is more faithful recreation than other revivals in the line, with Oris deciding to keep the date on the 3 o’clock position, instead of moving it to the six o’clock spot.

The Oris Divers Sixty-Five brings modern watchmaking into the mix by using anti-corrosive stainless steel for the case, a bubble-curved sapphire crystal glass for serious scratch resistance, and anti-reflective coating on the inside to increase legibility during underwater use. Unlike most diver’s watches, the case is actually slim, giving it a dressier profile than traditional too watches for diving. The catch is, it’s only rated at 100 meters of water resistance, which makes it suitable for snorkeling and swimming, but not quite full-out diving in real-use scenarios.

Features include an Oris 733 movement with 38 hours of power reserve, a screw-in security crown, and Superluminova on the indices and hands. It comes with five strap options: dark brown leather, black rubber, stainless steel bracelet, black NATO textile, and blue NATO textile.

Available now, the Oris Divers Sixty-Five is priced at $2,000.
