We’re big fans of Noble Audio’s in-ear monitors, with their striking looks, amazing fit, and incredibly coherent sound. If you’re the same, then you’ll probably be interested in the Noble Audio Katana, the outfit’s latest flagship in-ear units.

Like the rest of the outfit’s line of high-end earphones, this should prove a favorite among the audiophile crowd, especially with the reference-quality sound it’s expected to bring along to the listening experience. Noble claims they named it after the classic samurai sword for its “perfect combination of balance, artistic beauty, and sharpness,” which, we’re guessing, means this is supposed to sound really, really good.

The Noble Audio Katana comes with nine proprietary-tuned balanced-armature drivers in each side, ensuring this darn thing will deliver a sound image like no other earphones in the lineup. As for the sound, Noble claims it delivers an extended top-end that generates outstanding imaging and airiness, along with a rich mid-range and a powerful low-end. It retains the outfit’s familiar form factor and overall geometry for in-ear monitors, with precision-machined aluminum housing ensuring durable function.

For portable use, the in-ears are sensitive enough to play music from a smartphone, all while handling itself just as well with portable amps and DAPs. Each one is hand-assembled and comes with detachable 0.78-mm cables that use standard two-pin connectors.

Now available for preorder, the Noble Audio Katana is priced at $1,850.
