Recording stuff on a GoPro and editing it at home for sharing later is fun, but you have to admit, letting people enjoy the action as it unfolds takes things to an entirely new level. And while there are options available in livestreaming cameras, you probably want something more rugged if you’re using it for action sports and other rough-and-tumble activities. That’s exactly what the LG Action Cam LTE brings to your gear bag.

Like other action cams, it’s designed to mount on your helmet and action sport equipment for filming POV shots. Unlike them, it comes with onboard LTE, allowing you to live stream your feeds over 4G, so your fans on YouTube Live (or your platform of choice) can enjoy the action as it happens. Of course, it also has Wi-Fi, so you don’t have to rack up the mobile charges if there’s free network connection available in the area.

The LG Action Cam LTE is clad in a bar shape with the lens on the front tip, so it should offer better aerodynamic performance than the standard GoPro form factor. Armed with a 12.3 megapixel sensor, it can record 4K video at 30 fps and 1080p at 60 fps, although livestreaming is restricted to 1080p at 30 fps to ensure smooth data transmission. Features include SD card support up to 2TB, IP67 water resistance, a battery rated at four hours of HD recording, and remote access functionality for use as a CCTV or a dash cam.

No pricing yet, but the LG Action Cam LTE will come out next month.
