KLAD produces 3D, 5D, and other custom Hot Induction Bends from both weld overlaid seamless pipes and long seam welded clad pipes. It represents a critical technology, balancing the metallurgical base and overlay/clad materials at hot bending temperatures, to produce a defect-free bend with required material and corrosion properties.
Typical material combinations of Overlay/Clad pipes include various grades of carbon and low alloy steel base materials; such as, A106B, A516-70, Chrome Moly grades, and API 5L Grades X60, X65 and X70 combined with different grades of cladding alloys, such as Stainless Steels 304L, 316L, 317L, 321, 347, Alloy 825, Alloy 625 and their equivalent weld overlay alloys.

KLAD produces induction bends from 4"NPS size and up, with wall thickness varying from Schedule Standard to 1¾". KLAD bends are produced from 15º to 180º, with tangent lengths to ease fabrication.
Most Projects require a Preproduction Test Bend to verify and proof the Bending Procedure by non-destructively and destructively testing critical sections of the bend.
In addition to standard bend inspection for dimensions, hardness, MT and UT from the OD, each KLAD production bend ID surface is examined 100% visually and with LPT.
