SeaVees has experienced quite a renaissance since it was revived just a few years ago, transforming from a brand that’s been dormant for half a century to a staple element of California style. For the fall, the outfit teamed up with British clothing brand Grayers for a limited edition collection styled for the colder days ahead and the Grayers x SeaVees 08/61 Army Low Wintertide is our absolute favorite of the lot.
No, it’s not a new silhouette. Instead, it’s an autumn-ready version of the outfit’s popular army-issue silhouette, which takes its cues from 60s-era sporting footwear worn by American soldiers.
Billed as a “classed up” version of the original, the Grayers x SeaVees 08/61 Army Low Wintertide gets an olive broken twill upper from the British outfit’s archive of exclusive fabrics, giving the footwear a cleaner, less-casual appearance. It will still look good worn with a pair of shorts for the remainder of the summer, but should really stand out with a pair of jeans or chinos as part of your outfits during the fall.
Features include a tonal full grain leather toe cap, soft cotton canvas lining, waxed cotton laces, and a custom-contoured footbed for all-day comfort. It comes with SeaVees’ signature herringbone rubber outsole for maximum slip resistance during those days you need to step out on wet roads.
Available now, the Grayers x SeaVees 08/61 Army Low Wintertide is priced at $108.
