It’s not the first time we’re seeing a Google-branded smartphone. The Google Pixel, however, is the first phone to be designed exclusively out of Mountain View, ensuring it delivers the purest expression of the outfit’s vision for their mobile platform.

No, they’re still not manufacturing their phones yet. Instead, it’s built by HTC, although every part of the device, from the glass-aluminum body to the individual components to the user experience, were fashioned directly by Google.

The Google Pixel comes in two sizes: 5-inch and 5.5-inch (Pixel XL), both of them packing a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, and an AMOLED display. Both devices get a 12.3 megapixel rear camera that, Google claims, get the best-ever DxOMark Mobile score, ensuring it will deliver sharp and crisp images, regardless of any light conditions. Battery life should prove one of the phones’ biggest strengths, as the Pixel does 26 hours of talk time while the Pixel XL does a whopping 32 hours. Even better, it comes with a fast-charging mode that lets you replenish it with seven hours’ worth of power in just 15 minutes.
