Frontier Plus Portable Stove This portable and packable wood-burning stove can keep your tent warm and toasty, even while camping through the middle of cold weather season.

Camping in cold weather? Not a problem – just wear a lot of clothes, use a winterized tent, and make sure to bring an insulated foam pad to bring warmth to your sleeping arrangements. Alternatively, you can head down to the camping spot armed with the Frontier Plus, a portable wood-burning stove that can heat up the tent without filling it up with smoke.

No, the stove doesn’t involve any advanced tech that allows it to burn fuel without producing smoke. Instead, it comes with a duct that’s going to vent the smoke out of the shelter, so you can stay warm and toasty without running in danger of smoke inhalation.

The Frontier Plus offers two ways of venting the duct out of the living area: either you pop it out through zip flaps (the duct has a modular insulated section that won’t burn through the tent material) or use the optional flashing kit to cut a hole on the tent. Whichever option you choose, the result is the same: toasty air in the room, regardless of the temperature outside. Aside from heating up the tent, the stove has a top plate that you can use for cooking, with enough surface space to fit two cookware at a time.

When not in use, the stove can be disassembled and collapsed into a size that measures 18.5 x 11 x 9 inches, with an integrated handle that allows it to be carried like a large toolbox.   It’s not light at 37 pounds, but for all the trouble you’re willing to go through in order to go camping during winter, we doubt adding a slightly heavyset tool that can keep you warm is too much of a burden.

The catch? You can’t have one yet. The Frontier Plus is currently on preorder, with a February ship date, priced at £299.
